These days I try my best to shop smart and not impulse buy in the beauty world. Now that I don’t work in the beauty industry I’m not exposed to as much as I was. Buuuut let’s be honest, since I’m very blogger obsessed I’m always up to date with latest releases and the hot new stuff coming out. So here we have Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Skin Twinkle Lighting Palette Volume II is BEAUTIFUL. That being said, here is another gorgeous palette to add to my overflowing palette drawer (one day I’ll share this and you can see what I mean.)
I love palettes. Especially because I’ve been traveling a lot lately I’m always in search of practical ones I can bring along with me. So when I saw Tarte carried a Volume II of there highlight palette from the Rain forest of the Sea Collection I hopped on the chance to buy it since I passed on the first one.
Let me start off by saying I love the packaging. I find it very visually appealing and ties in very well with the Rain Forest of the Sea Collection vibes. This lightweight palette is super easy to travel with because its not too heavy or bulky at all. This fits so easily in my makeup bag and the huge mirror is a big plus as well. I also love that this palette gives you 4 shades to play with. I like mixing colors to create custom shades.. Daylight & Spotlight are my jam. Skylight alone gives me that lit from within type glow. I believe this palette has more product than the volume I edition and the price point isn’t too bad either.
The swatches above are from just ONE swipe by the way. Each shade just sinks into the skin with ease and lasts all day for me. All the shades blend so smooth, very buttery and are not too blinding where I can use them for an everyday look. The lightest application can do wonders so no heavy hand needed when applying this. I believe this is a new thing that Tarte is doing but all the new palettes I have, have a cocoa smell to it similar to the Too Faced chocolate bar palettes which I LOVE. How can you not love a cocoa smelling highlight on your face! This is basically the highlight palette I have been looking for at the moment. Let’s see how long it takes me to hit pan.
Do you need this one? I would say yes only if you don’t have volume I. If you travel a lot and want to carry something for strobing and highlighting then that’s another yes from me too. get it here
